Dr. Rachel Lange has been practicing forensic pathology since 2009. She is board-certified in anatomic and forensic pathology and is licensed to practice medicine in Florida, New York and Hawaii. She grew up in central Florida, where she attended the University of Florida before receiving her medical degree as an Alpha Omega Alpha graduate of the University of Miami School of Medicine in 2005. Dr. Lange completed an internship year in obstetrics and gynecology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, followed by residency training in anatomic pathology.
Dr. Lange began her forensic pathology career at the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in New York City, where she completed her fellowship training under Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Charles Hirsch. She stayed on as City Medical Examiner, serving the borough of Brooklyn. She also volunteered her time as a consultant for the Human Rights Clinic of HealthRight International, where she performed forensic evaluations of international victims of torture seeking asylum in the state of New York. Thereafter, she moved to Hawaii, where she served as Deputy Chief Medical Examiner for the City and County of Honolulu and then as Forensic Pathologist for Maui County Coroner. During her time in Maui, Dr. Lange worked as a Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner for the Hawaii Sexual Assault Response Team and also provided forensic pathology services in Guam.
Dr. Lange returned home to central Florida in 2021, where she worked as Associate Medical Examiner in Florida District 9/25 (Orange and Osceola) before joining the District 5/24 office in 2024. She is a member of Florida Association of Medical Examiners (FAME), National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME), and American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS).
